Dry Pines

This forest is warmed by geothermal activity - the open, dry woodland is comprised mostly of pines and redwoods, brought to the region long ago. Between the massive trunks, the forest is airy and softly carpeted with ferns and pine needles.

Skymirror Lochs

This chain of three lakes is fed and warmed by an underground river, meaning that even in the dead of winter, it is never entirely frozen. Seasonally fed by snow melt streams, the water is almost totally clear of sediment and astonishingly pure. They are named for their still surfaces, so clear that they reflect the sky in perfect detail.

Kyrkja River

The mighty Kyrkja river flows through the packlands here, wide and deep. It is this river that the region is named for, and here it is calm and slow. Ice circles often form at the bends in the colder months, even freezing solid in the winter.

Fjord of Deep Waters

The mountains dip their roots to drink here, and the fjord runs miles inland from the sea, winding past giant crags. The water here is mostly salt, though streams to run into it. No one knows how deep the water is here - some say the fjord has no bottom at all.

Windlands

This rolling, open expanse of highland is often buffeted by harsh winds. The landscape is defined by harsh grassland and rocky outcroppings.

Wild Stream

This stream flows through the highland territory, calm in places but often forming small rapids, and eventually feeding the Kyrkja river. Small waterfalls and pools are common as well.

Inlet Shore

An inlet creates a gentle marsh and beach here. It is well-protected from storm winds, and birds can commonly be found nesting here during migratory seasons.

Battle Wash

The river runs wide and shallow here, rushing ankle-deep over stones. The channel is the only deep part of the river - swift and deep enough to drown the unwary, and changing course often. The shores are flat and gravelly - this is the traditional location for challenges and ceremonial fights between wolves.
