Name: Persephone [per-seh-fonee]
Nickname(s): None.
Age: Adult-4 years old
Gender: Female
Pack: LonerRank:
Appearance:
Persephone has a starless coat of coal black fur that has a downy appearance compared to that of tough and knotty pelage that one would assume most rouges to have. Her compulsive sensitivity to "sticking out in a way that is frowned upon" keeps her in check and constantly looking to make sure that no strand of fur is sticking out in the wrong direction or her paws are dirty. Keeping up with appearances has also made her worry over her figure, as feminine and stereotypical as that sounds. Exercise is apart of the females daily ritual and has made her exceptionally appealing to the eye of anyone,if anyone, but herself. A pointed, narrow maw extends from the femme's face and confines two neat rows of pearly whites, which are used more often for hunting than fighting. However, should the need arise, Persephone has no hesitation when defense is necessary.
Her face is a canvas free of unneeded markings (scars) or wounds (usually, since she isn't one for violence) and is instead covered in a mask of ebony fur. Two lemon orbs stand out brilliantly against her rather dark complexion and are typically the first thing one would notice when first confronting her,due to the contrast. Two ears sit atop her head, proportional in their size and shape. Being a timber wolf of a rather rocky region her paws were made for treading carefully through the annoying piles of snow accumulated throughout the winter season. Her nightshade cloak is rather thick year long which is handy during winter, but a mere burden during the warmer seasons. Because of this, she tends to stick to the shade in spring and summer.

Personality:
Unfortunately, expecting a rather normal wolf is below your expectations if that was what you had in mind first reading this. However, the way Persephone is portrayed is up to the reader, correct? A female of her kind is a rouge for a reason and that reason is simple: You can't trust anyone. From years of rejection and backstabbing Persephone has found it her best interest to avoid social situations no matter what good, or bad, it could do her. Now she only sees the world in black and white, colorless. Rarely ever is she satisfied and negativity is average when it comes to this stubborn wolfess. She could have caught the best prey available in the middle of winter and still wouldn't be able to feel a shimmer of pride at how well she had done. She would find some way to make it a bad thing and take the guilt, anger, anxiety or whatever it is on herself.
If it wasn't already obvious, Persephone is an emotional mix up. The two main words that could describe her when she is alone would be depression and anxiety due to the fact that these are what she feels most times. She finds herself wondering in an imaginary fog that she cant manage to see through and for once she only wishes for a light to guide her out of it. She worries about her future and the few she cares about with the constant "what if's" plaguing her mind like a rabid disease. If anything, she fears the future. The words "love" and "care" have made her into a dark and shielded fae compared to the angel she used to be before she was forced into exile. Her self esteem is nearly non-existent, sadly, and she works tirelessly to make herself appear "perfect". Without perfection she is a failure and being a failure means no one will ever love or care about you no matter how much you love and care about them.
Whenever she happens to find herself in some sort of social situation she puts up a "wall" to guard the emotion and rampant thoughts from coming to play at her expression, for fear that someone will ask her what is wrong. Persephone isn't one to share her feelings and prefers bottling them up to the simple method of talking to someone so her guard goes on high alert whenever someone asks her what is wrong. She often manages to release a jaded sigh accompanied by a "im alright, I promise" and a look that says "back off". It is for this reason that many become upset with her and eventually drift away from her when all she really needs is a good friend at her side. Dolefully, she fails to realize that she ends up pushing everyone away from her. It is hard for someone like her to come at peace with themselves, but eventually there will be hope in her heart for a more reasonable and meaningful life.
All sadness aside, Persephone does have her moments of happiness here and there. The simple things tend to bring her pleasure whenever she runs into them, like the feel of a mild spring-time breeze or the sound of rain falling lightly around her. The little things in nature find some way to relax her and make it so that she doesn't have a single terrible thought bothering her. When in these moods she is peaceful and a smile isn't at all uncommon. Trust is something she fails to take lightly, as was hinted before. She solely depends on herself and is afraid of becoming attached to someone else . The fae has this paranoid sense that if she were to get attached to someone it would only lead to betrayal in the end. This is another reason why she lives without the aid of a pack.
History:
Two wolves met in the latest part of winter with the intention of starting a pack and raising a family of their own. A female and a male, the female being called Nira and the male Sika, the two grew closer and closer day after day until it came time for them to breed and bring to the world a litter that carried the lupine's genetics. 63 days later three pups were born, thus beginning the start of a pack known as Maichan. The new parents named their three offspring Octane, Persephone, and Kara, after past family members that meant a lot to them. The siblings were born healthy, much to the parents relief, and were thankful for such luck. Raising the pups provided a more difficult task for Nira, however, and she became constantly drowsy and wearisome despite Sika's best efforts to tend to her when she needed it. No matter, they were still a happy family it seemed.
Months later Maichan consisted of 6 wolves (not including the pups) thanks to the persuasive speech Sika used. Every wolf knew it was best to be in a pack not only because of their social nature, but because winter was harsh. It got colder and prey was scarce. What better a way to catch a good size animal than to do it with a family? It made things easier and you also had friends you could trust. By the time Persephone and her siblings were a year old they gained their ranks within the pack early and were treated as adults. Being the Alphas offspring, they were all highly respected by their peers. Octane and Kara constantly took advantage of this and Persephone found it such a disgrace. Because of this, she was looked upon as the kindest and sweetest wolf of the trio. It was in her best interest to stay loyal to her family and she trusted them all with her life. After all, what was a family without trust and happiness?
With this in mind, it wasn't long before she figured out that others had a tendency to take advantage of niceness. This would change her forever and turn her into the opposite of what she once was. Winter soon swept over the land, one of the worst the wolves had ever experienced. Disease also became a burden and it began to plague the bodies of so many members. The alphas had fear that it would destroy their pack but never gave up on trying to keep them all aloft. Persephone also never gave up hope, that was until her mother and father grew ill along with Octane, her brother. With the death of all three of them approaching, the alphas decided it was time they told Persephone of their choice to make Maichan the new leader. To them she had the most logical personality and leadership seemed to radiate off of her when leading a hunting party.
Kara on the other hand was far to selfish and power hungry that she was immediately frustrated with the fact that her parents chose her sister over her. It seemed like she was always living in her sisters shadow, but that would soon change as there was a plan formulating in her mind. She would claim her place as leader no matter what it took. She wanted the spotlight and nothing would stop her from getting what she wanted. Eventually, just as spring was beginning to melt away winters bitterness, Nira and Sika passed on and Persephone took their place (Octane died soon after). The pack found her to be a wonderful leader and all was well for some time. Persephone was thrilled with how much progress they had all made as a pack with their numbers growing each and every day. She would constantly tell them how pleased they had made her and that Nira and Sika would be proud, making them work even harder to keep the pack together.
One day, Kara had met a wolf as power hungry as herself that went by the name of Kenai. They both wanted to feel the sweet taste of leadership and they fell in love with the sense that eventually they would both get what they wanted. Kara convinced the brute to join Maichan with the intention of taking the pack over as their own. The question was how they planned to do so. It wasn't known to anyone but the two of them that they were mates and it was then that they both came up with a plan so devious and crafty that they knew the gullible Persephone would fall for it. Kara's sister longed for a mate to stand at her side and lead with her. The two of them both knew it so Kenai worked his charm on her, causing her to fall wildly in love with him. In her eyes Kenai was sweet and caring, the perfect mate for her.
This was the signal for Kara to make her move. Nightfall came one and she murdered one of the females that Kenai was "close" friends with, making it appear like Persephone did it. Kenai knew Kara had murdered one of his friends but his heart was so stone cold that he could care less. All he wanted was power and Kara. Morning drew close and one of the Maichan wolves found the fae dead in her den. Persephone was shocked, but Kara clearly explained that this wolf was a friend of Kenai's and the two were extremely close. She growled in disgusted and continued to talk of how Persephone was jealous and this murder was the work of a monster. Persephone knew she hadn't done this and argued against her sister, but Kenai eventually joined Kara's side as planned. The pack didn't want a murderer leading them so they were convinced and chased Persephone out of their territory with Kara and Kenai taking the lead.
This event changed PErsephone and could not understand why her pack would believe such nonsense. Ever since she has been confused and different from the wolfess she used to be, with the heavy weight of the past on her shoulders.
(crap history x.x i was trying to make it short so i made the sentences choppy and didn't include much detail ><)
Roleplay Example:
The Winter sun fell behind the darkening horizon in a vibrant explosion of golds and reds along with indigo and gray against the deep blue canvas of clouded sky. Decaying flowers and vegetation arose from the from the snow covered floor of the plains, dull and pitiful on top of other glum surroundings. It was beautiful but disgusting all the same, like a snake. Beautiful because it was a part of nature but ugly in its ways. The air was warm and crisp with a soft breeze that mingled within the brutes fur the scents of dirt and air. Rel coned a deep sigh from within his chest and inhaled the dusk air, eyelids fluttering closed for nothing more than a brief moment to enjoy the silent serenity. Audits rotated at the simple sounds of the bison grazing land; husky buffalo grazing and the sound of their grunts and cacophonous voices calling out and rummaging. Winter was coming to its end, one couldn't expect those annoying "cows" to be gone just yet should they? If anything, they were growing in numbers because of the little bit of winter still left.
It was here that Rel found himself sprawled out on the ground, a fair distance away from a herd, awaiting the arrival of his packmate, Taske. She had accepted him as her mentor and here was where they would have their first "training" session. Ever since Rel had first met Taske he couldn't help but feel engrossed in her ways, as far as her mysteriousness and why she was so distant. It was almost like she was a magnet that beckoned him to get to know her. Truthfully he only asked if she wanted him as a mentor for that fact...and that he wanted her as a friend. However, he couldn't help but feel that the word "friend" didn't describe his feelings for her well enough. It was as if it was to simple a word for the relationship he wanted...but even a wolf like him was shy of admitting it. Maybe it was because he had no close relations to anyone in the pack perhaps?
He felt a bit tense to be honest. He didn't know if being a mentor was his thing but he was the Beta was he not? If Taske trusted him well enough to call him her mentor then he guessed it was alright to say there was nothing to worry about. His tongue snaked its way out from inside the captivity of his maw and ran over his black lips, only to return in as soon as it appeared. Eyelids opened to reveal Rel's twin cobalt orbs and he watched on, bored with the landscape already
