☼ The first time I saw these lands, I was taken in by the majesty of the fjord. It wasn't just beautiful; it had an air of power surrounding it, pressing on me, bending me to its will. There was a power here, something beyond me, that I regarded with what could only be described as respect. I knew that if such a land was not respected, I, and anyone else who lived there, would be destroyed by the harsh forces of nature. Even now, as I stood in the cool sand near the river's edge, the cold pressed upon me, reminding me of its prowess. The water was nearly frozen through now that winter was well along, and beneath my paws was at least a good couple of feet of snow. I cringed at the thought of the spring floods when they came, as they would be terrible in their power. Then, I smiled. There was nothing for the Fjordsong pack to fear, as the mountains provided shelter from the river if there was need.
☼ The matters I considered were troubling, but my mind was light. It was my job to think of such matters, now. A smile came to my maw, teeth showing white. I was Alpha of the Fjordsong pack, ruler of all before me. It was a heady feeling, knowing that you were, in fact, the one all would look up to. The one who gave out orders. But at the same time, I could feel the weight the rank set upon me. I was in charge of the lives of all in this pack. The thought lit a fire of protective instinct within me. Perhaps it was because I had been the 'big brother' for so long; when I am charged with the care of another, I will do all that's in my power to keep them safe. It was the sense of duty that burned so strong within me. My eyes flashed the more I thought about it.
☼ I walked closer the the edge of the short strip of sand, letting first one paw, then another, spread upon the surface of the smooth ice. The frozen water was white, with a thin layer of snow across the surface. To one looking at me, on the background of ice and snow, the only things readily visible would be the darker grey fur on my back, the black point of my nose, and the clear, bright blue of my eyes. In the right shadows, however... I can virtually disappear. When I was on my own, it had come in handy. I wouldn't have to worry about that as much anymore, with a pack of wolves to hunt together.
☼ Pack. At that thought, I realized it was probably time to meet this pack of mine. I turned off of the ice, relocating to the solid ground. Lowering my haunches, I threw back my finely-chiseled head. From my lips came a clear, low sound, rising to climax as it rang across the flat landscape. The pitch lowered once more as my head did, the sound tapering off. I could still hear the call for a few seconds, ringing against the trees and the vertical mountain faces. I knew there was a few wolves that had upheld ranks before an alpha came forth... A chuckle left my throat, but it was not necessarily joyful. We'd see. I got along with most wolves, but there were certain types that I would not allow to have power in my pack. Things had been pretty lax without an alpha around, but I would change that.

Her warmly hued pelt, thinner than that of the Northern wolf species for the warmer Mexican climate, was not well adapted to such an icy winter. The little senora needed to be huddled up somewhere warm, perhaps in the back of a cave or inside a thicket with a snowless dirt floor. Instead she was loping along a strip of beach with an ice-cold tide lapping at her dainty paws. The numb feeling that was soaking into her creamy mitts made Tiburon doubt her desire to come to the Fjordsong pack. Sure, it was quite beneficial to live in a pack during the colder months when meat and warmth became precious commodities. But what had she to gain other than a better chance for survival than if she went solo? She did not desire what social interaction that living with others provided; it hard been hard enough as a pup to live with her parents and her siblings. She had disliked other wolves intensely since her birth. This dislike had only grown in strength when her left orb had been torn out. Tiburon sighed and shook her head, closing her remaining jade orb as she did so. She needed to stop doubting her own decisions - otherwise her life would be filled with more inner turmoil than she could deal with. Her quick lope came to a slow halt as a strange howl filled the air. It sounded like it was coming from just beyond the next turn. She began moving towards the source, albiet at a much slower pace. Cool jade orb landed on a white brute. Rusty harks flicked forward. The fur began to bristle along her shoulders and spine. Ivory lips lifted to show her teeth while her tongue slid out a bit between her fangs. It was a strong display of ambivalence. Though she wanted dearly to launch herself at the alpha, she also did not want him to attack her, seeing as she was much smaller and would not be able to fend him off.

Pasha lazily lifted his head as the sound of another's howl reached his ear. He listened quizzically for a moment trying to recall whose voice it was. He perked up immediately when he realized that it was the new alpha. The monstrous brute rose from where he had been resting and shook the snow off his pelt. It was snowing now he noted with a shrug, it didn't matter much to him.
Quickly, not wanting to give a bad impression of himself, Pasha took off with a gallop. He was built to run, while he wasn't the fastest sprinter he still could give plenty of wolves a run for their money. More important though was the fact that he could run at a decently fast pace for ages. He enjoyed running as well. Even in the cold weather it was refreshing to have the cold wind blow in your face.
It did not take him long to reach about where the howl had originated. “I'm here, sir,” Pasha said, quickly as he approached the snow white leader. Pasha was hoping to gain a position as the beta, he wanted to lead, though he had no aspiration of alpha. He hoped that acting like a good soldier would help him in some ways.
His attention turned to the new wolf for a moment. She did not seem pleased to be here. She was tiny and she lacked any form of a winter coat. He wondered why she was here, this was hardly the place for a wolf with no fur. He wanted to speak to her but decided to hold his tongue until the alpha had said what needed to be said.

Rabbit hunting in the snow was a thing far from her choice of entertainment, she viewing the gathering of herbs as more interesting at the moment, nose now coated in a fine layer of frost from several failed attempts at diving into the snow in hopes of pulling one of the little beasts out during their attempt at escape. Given the nature of her current day when the authoritative call of another met her ears, it was a welcome surprise. She had wondered when an Alpha would step forward, but now that the moment had come was beginning to question exactly what sort of Alpha it would be. Regardless of her worries the healer abandoned her chase, pawing the snow from her nose and giving her fur a quick shake off and grooming to be at least make an attempt at being presentable, then sprinting off in the direction of the call.
Nearing, the sight of a pack mate and a strange other was before her, going ignored as she instead approached the one who had sent out the summons. Pace as languid and relaxed as though taking a stroll on a summer day she stepped forward, the inquisitive golden gaze searching shamelessly for any sign of imperfection, weakness. The caller was an impressive male, nearly completely white and seeming to hold the air of command she had learned to expect from an Alpha. The assessment should have been expected as far as she was concerned, what wolf wanted to be affiliated with a weak leader, unless of course said leader was wily to a point where physical strengths were not really necessary. Though that was still to be seen, black rims pulled back slightly and a hint of a smile hovered ghostlike on her lips, the ashen head dipping in a curt nod of welcome and as the motion usually signified, submission.
Turning away from the male to find her own resting place on the ground Nephele then greeted another pack mate Pasha, the minute smile growing into a grin as she gave a slight wag of the tail, scantily acknowledging the other wolf, no more than a swift glance in fiery females’ direction before she found a seat on the ice. Let what challenges would come, come, it was better for it to happen now than later on.

Olive had been out getting the lay of the land. She had yet to come across the alpha, this was disappointing but she was glad to be on the territory regardless. Her salt and pepper colored tail wagged slightly behind her when she realized it was starting to snow. She hadn’t quite gotten sick of winter yet, at this point she was still enjoying the snow and how clean and fresh it made everything look. She knew the novelty would wear off in the weeks to come with food being more difficult to find but for now she would appreciate the season for its beauty.
A voice suddenly interrupted the female’s day dreams. She knew right away that the call was that of the alpha. Her ears pinned forward with excitement as she took off at a run in the direction of the call. Her legs were long, they carried her over the snow easily but Olive was not a big wolf, she was tall and thin. As she came closer the scents of Pasha and Nephele came to her along with two strange scents. Ahead she caught sight of the other four wolves. She recognized the two wolves she had met in the days prior, she assumed the white wolf was the alpha and the other was a mystery to her.
Finally she slowed to a walk as she entered the area where the others were gathering. Now that she was closer she could see that the white wolf was indeed the pack’s new leader. She bowed her head respectfully to him before shooting Pasha and Nephele a cheerful smile each. She glanced at the smaller female, she didn’t seem friendly but Olive wagged her tail to the female anyway, hopefully a friendly gesture would help her feel less threatened. After saying her silent hellos to everyone she turned her attention back to Capella, he looked strong. She wondered if he would be discussing the subject of ranks. The female had decided weeks ago that when she found a pack she would want the role of scout but she would accept any rank the leader chose for her without complaint.

☼ One after another the wolves came, some friendly, some speculative, and one a little hostile. Rather than wait around like an idiot for others to show up, I responded to their bows with an inclination of my head. They seemed like a competent bunch, strong, able-minded. At first glance, at least. Hopefully that assessment would hold true after some conversation. Before addressing the three closest to me, I observed the thin-coated female who didn't seem willing to get close. She didn't even seem willing to act friendly to her alpha. She was a portrait of aggression, one that many alphas would stamp out in the beginning. However, I saw something in that fiery jade eye that could not be easily dismissed. Rising from my seated position, I walked a couple of steps toward her, head raised with the authority of my position. My blue eyes bore down on her, scrutinizing, judging. After a few moments of silence, my posture became more at ease, and a small, wry smile came to my maw. "Relax. You won't find a fight here unless you force it. No one is going to hurt you." My words were kind, but the order to relax was just that: an order. I wouldn't have someone in the pack willing to jump on other wolves with absolutely no provocation. I turned away from her, a clear signal that she could join the group or be ignored.
☼ I considered the three wolves before me. Two females and a male. The smile was faint on my face. Perhaps they thought me soft, for not punishing what could be deemed as a threat. But in that female's eyes I saw less malice than fear. Sure, she was being forwardly aggressive, but I could tell it was derived from a dislike of wolves in general. I didn't know what had happened to her in the past, but I wouldn't judge her now unless she actually harmed me or others in the pack.
☼ "I know it must be strange for a wolf you don't know to show up and take over. Know that I will do right by you if you do right by me. Now, tell me your names. I also know that some of you may have had acting ranks in the absence of an alpha. Tell me that as well, and we'll see if you will keep the position under my rule." I was willing to give these wolves chances. If they proved themselves incompetent, I would find more suitable positions for them in the pack. Fjordsong had to be strong. Tension between the wolf packs had been growing the colder it got, and Fjordsong, with a newly-chosen alpha, would be a prime target. I had to be sure I could trust these wolves, and that we would stand a chance if the dams of aggression broke.

The next two wolves that came up glanced at the diminuitive femme... just glanced. No words of welcome or questions as to whom she was or why she was here. No growls or wags of the tail. They just acknowledged that she was present and went about sizing up and greeting their new leader. Her sorrel auds turned backward but did not flatten. She definitely did not appreciate such treatment, even if their company was not something that she desired. When the third wolf approached, she did so on Tiburon's blindside. The thin-furred fae jerked to the right, black dipped banner curling between her hind legs and her alabaster lips pulling up completely, muzzle becoming a mass of wrinkles. She hated it when others approached and she could not see them coming. Fear started to trickle into that hate when the snowy alpha began to pad towards her. Her little display was meant to warn off attacks and approaches. Tiburon began to shrink a little, her tail threatening to curl between her hind limbs. Her pupil widened as her ears flattened and her lips dropped so that only the tips of her fangs were showing. Instead of tearing a chunk or two out of her twenty-kilo frame, his sapphire orbs seemed to be looking her over. Sizing her up as the trio had been moments ago. "Relax. You won't find a fight here unless you force it. No one is going to hurt you." The tenseness of her muscles did decrease with his words, but the three year old was still shrunken into her little crouch, tail curled up under her. Her remaining eye was locked onto his in a blank stare. Most wolves would have meant this as a challenge to his authority and his position. She didn't. The wee senora's gaze said quite plainly that though she wasn't going to challenge him or harrass her fellow pack members, she would not roll onto her back for him like a little bitch. When he turned away, Tiburon straightened up. Then she quietly moved to a position about two or three feet from the other wolves. "I know it must be strange for a wolf you don't know to show up and take over. Know that I will do right by you if you do right by me. Now, tell me your names. I also know that some of you may have had acting ranks in the absence of an alpha. Tell me that as well, and we'll see if you will keep the position under my rule." The words meant little to her as she had not entered the Fjordsong lands before this day.

Pasha watched as the new alpha approached the small female. She seemed as if she was going to attack him, though it would be foolish of him to do so. He didn't like her, at least not so far. He felt bad about judging her so quickly but her reaction to Olive was less than pleasant. He found it hard to want to be kind to those who did not give a pleasant hello back to those who extended a warm welcome to them. Pasha said nothing though, it was not his place and the alpha, he was certain, could take care of himself. Instead the young male looked on as the alpha spook kindly to the female. She did seem afraid. Pasha, though he still had no bond towards her, did pity her a bit. What must she have gone through to have such a fear of others.
Once Capella had finished speaking to the small she-wolf, he turned his attention to the whole pack. He invited everyone to share their names and their rank. Pasha did not know what his rank was nor did he know what it should be exactly. He hadn't been an important member of any pack ever, his experience was limited to being a pup, a slightly older pup who had started to learn hunting, and a loner who lived with his brother. The big brute was more than willing to start things off happy and wanted to make a good impression on the alpha. “I'm Pasha, sir,” He said stepping forward proudly, “I want to be a beta.” He added the last bit knowing he stood little chance at such a lofty position. Still it did not hurt to throw that out. He could be a good beta. He was a natural leader, though he never wanted to lead, and a good loyal man who would watch his alpha's back.

It was undeniable that she found the reaction of the alpha a surprise, in most other cases she may have only seen it as a sign of over leniency, but from the way the female reacted she would have to assume either he was a fantastic socialite or had merely been lucky in his choice of words to calm her. Onyx ears pricked forward with interest as she heard Pashas request of Beta, rotating them back again as she decided to go ahead and make her request as well.
Claws clicking audibly on the ice the female followed in her pack mates example and took a step forward, dipping her head simultaneously in respect, albeit a bit lower than the first time.
“I’m Nephele, and serve as the head medic to the pack.”
A gentle chuckle arose from her vocal chords, the female offering a warm smile before continuing.
“But let’s hope you never have too serious of a need for me, hm?”
Though said in her general lighthearted manner the statement lacked the general teasing purr that would’ve been present. She was entirely serious, and hoped that it would be a long while before the Alpha required healing due to a grievous injury. It had been bad enough not having an Alpha, and having a battle blooded leader was the quickest way back to that point.

'Change' the word blew across the land like it's whistling winds. The animals in the Fjords felt it. It was always happening. The ancient stones of the mountains and the ever growing plants knew that it was the way of nature. Things adapted and changed through out history of the Earth. Taking top of the food chain species as humans and making them almost extinct as the wolf once was.
Speaking of change, the change that was heard over the land was the change of a new pack. A new leader and a new rule. The howl of a powerful male wolf was heard over his territory. It reached all corners and filled every animals ear. The bigger prey would become more wary of the powerful hunters and the predators would be on the alert to keep their kills hidden.
More importantly the claiming howl was heard by all of the loners in the area. Calling to them warning them to either accept the new rule or leave. The female was already running towards the area before the howl was issued. She was nothing but a black speck in the snow. Even though she was a decedent of ancient Mexican grey wolves, her ancestors had developed a thick under coat for northern areas. Her glowing amber eyes were locked on a target she had seen in her minds eye. This always happened when she was being pulled towards a place that needed her. As Baba B, her master would say, "Zelly child, you need to follow your intuition. Healers, whether ranked as such or not, know where they are needed. Other wolves are blind to that intuition and they are left to follow their other senses."
Zelunik was the traveling healers calling. She had her teachings behind her. No matter what happened this place what where she felt her duty and calling. She would follow that. Her nose told her wolves were a head and she sped up. The pack would be strong and powerful. Her tongue lolled happily. She enjoyed life as a loner or as a pack mate. Some how she felt that this pack, she would join, this pack would be a much more permanent home.
Powerful steps and then a quick leap over a rock she saw the wolves in the distance. There were five wolves total. Zelunik sighed, to rush upon a group of wolves was not smart. Her travels as a loner taught her this. Instead she lifted her head and howled her own beautiful howl. It was melodious. Not a claiming howl as the alpha called but a returning howl. Stating she was here and she was interested in his pack.
Zelunik lowered her head and looked across the flat stretch of land towards the group. Then she began to move forward. This time at an easy pace that allowed every member to watch her approach. As she drew nearer she could make out the five shapes better. It was a group of two males and three females. One face a was a lighter version of her own. This made her tail wag. She would not be the only wolf of southern blood here. Though she was born and raised as the adapted greys she was still happy to see a wolf of her exotic markings.
As Zel approached with her head and tail low of respect. For if these wolves were pack members already she would be lower ranked than all of them. Funny she had confidence to approach a pack of wolves but she still felt her heart pound with fear. She'd seen wolves turn very quickly on a weaker being. It was in their nature. Her eyes darted to the other wolf like her, the poor thing was missing an eye, she had a poultice for that, made of snow and mint, both of which helped clean the socket and keep it from getting infections. Of course if they already had a healer she would just discuss it with whoever they were. She gave a brief nod to all of the wolves around. Her intelligent eyes rested on the two males. It was a male who claimed.
The bigger male held her attention for a moment. Handsome and regal though she could read his body language he was not alpha. She smiled in apology and turned her attention the white male, "greetings new Alpha. I've waited for the one who would claim these lands. I've been called here and hope you find me a dutiful member of your pack. They call me Zelunik. I am a healer, and wish to help in any way I can. Whether titled or not."
Her tones were soft and she held sincerity in her voice. Zelunik felt herself happy to find herself a pack. Now to see if they would accept her in said pack. She sat regally and wrapped her tail around her paws. Her head lowered than the alpha's she looked at his paws listening for his verdict to every wolf around him.

Olive watched as Capella spoke to the hostile little female. He was very kind to her which brought a smile to her powdery white muzzle. She liked the idea of a pack that didn’t jump to conclusions and where everyone was given a chance, even if first impressions were a little rocky. The little wolf did seem to calm herself a little and even moved a few feet closer to the rest of the group. When he was done he turned his attention to the rest of them and asked for they’re ranks. Olive listened as Pasha asked for the position of beta, she hoped he would receive his desired rank, he was brave enough and he seemed like he had a good heart.
Her ears pricked when Nephele introduced herself, this was not the first time she had met the other female but it was the first time she was learning her name. She introduced herself as the head medic, she had remembered her saying something about being a medic the last time they met. One ear twitched as yet another female made an appearance. This was another wolf she had yet to meet, this one took a look around before greeting the alpha.
Olive was normally quiet but this was not to be mistaken for shyness, she simply preferred to take everything in before she spoke. Finally she decided she had best go ahead and introduce herself “My name is Olive sir” she said in her cheery way “I was hoping to be a scout but whatever position you see fit for me is fine” she told him. She peeked back at the one eyed female for just a second; Olive wondered if she would speak, she had yet to say a word. Could it be that this wolf was mute?

He was late. Or, so he felt like he was late. He had heard the call moments ago; perhaps even an hour before. Evion wasn't sure, he just knew that he didn't answer it right away. The voice spoke of power; An Alpha. Emerald eyes set upon the path he strolled through. Snow clung to his gray pelt as he had been previously slumbering in a snow cap. A yawn stretched his muzzle and his tongue curled out before his jowled popped back shut with a loud snap. Usually Evion didn't disturbed his sleep just to go meet someone, but he figured since an Alpha finally took place he would go meet the fellow.
Slowly he trudged through the snow, his pace no quicker than that of a soft leisure. He felt no necessity to be hurrying, but this could also get him a few remarks from the alpha for not being swift. Evion wasn't sure he cared at all. that nap had been peaceful and enchanting, dreaming of spring when everything was growing back to life. The wind carried many scents upon it and he knew for sure he was probably the last to show up. Three females, two males; not including himself. He perked his ears when he caught the last part of someone introducing themselves. Oh well, he would get names later.
He picked his pace up only a little bit, carrying himself lazily towards the gathered wolves. His eyes danced from one wolf to the next, putting their faces into his memory banks. After all they were to be his new family. He didn't say a word towards any of them. Simply sat down a few feet away and waited. Vaguely he wondered if the alpha was to be giving ranks. Either way Evion was slightly interested as to see who was ranked where. Perhaps he should be polite if he wanted to try and score the Delta position; or even a soldier position. Then again he was perfectly okay with being a simple member as well. It just had perks to being ranked; not to mention downfalls(like not being able to sleep all the time).
"Greetings Alpha...I am Evion," His head dipped down in a respectful bow; his voice nothing to spectacular just being on the border of a low octave yet still a normal pitch. His eyes lifted once more and he went back to studying the wolves that stood(or sat) around waiting for response from the new white painted Alpha.

☼ I was glad to see that the small female was willing to cooperate, even if she didn't seem particularly happy about it. It wasn't that I felt so confident she wouldn't attack me, or that I disregarded her threat, I just had a gut feeling that she wasn't their for malicious purposes. That, and she seemed smarter than to attack a larger, male alpha in his territory when pack members were on the way. She remained silent, but I just took that as her personality. I focused on those that did respond. Pasha, looking to be beta. I appraised him with icy eyes, noting both his size and his willingness. Nephele, who expressed interest in being a medic. I smiled at her with warmth at her words. A newcomer, Zelunik. Medic, who seemed quite willing as well. Olive, the pretty she-wolf who, while he knew nothing of her skill, did not show any physical problems that would keep her from being a good scout. A new male approached, and my grin grew wider. This was my pack. Newcomers all the time. His name was Evion. A stored it away in my mind.
☼ Well, first thing was first. All requested ranks are granted. Serve me well." The words were spoken with a mixture of humor and complete seriousness. I may seem laid back, but I had great expectations here. I looked at the two wolves that had yet to request a rank. I didn't even know the female's name. "Now, Evion. tell me what position you'd like, and I will give you your chance, as everyone will get." Then my gaze turned to the single eye of the little spitfire. "Would you care to tell me your name, then? Otherwise I'll have to make up my own for you." It was meant as a joke, but I was completely serious. I would, and have no problem with it.
☼ While I still had all of their attentions, I knew it was time to educate them a little on their Alpha. "I have a few rules that will be obeyed. Break them, and you'll find yourself homeless. Now first that I have no tolerance for bullying of any sort. You may dislike one another all you want, though I would rather that wasn't the case, but if you maliciously bring harm to a packmate, your stay here is over. Lesser offenses will have less severe punishments, but it's best if you learn not to cross me. Everyone must do their part; I will not stand for laziness." I looked at them all in turn. We would be a strong pack, I could tell. I had never led a pack, but I had lived long enough to know how to get things done. Inwardly, I smiled. Maybe there would even be an alphas in this group. Only time would tell.

She had felt very keenly the stares of the other Fjordsong members burning holes in her multicolored wrappings. It tempted her to bare her teeth at them. Who did they think they were to look at her like that? Tiburon's tail lay straight behind her, quivering softly. Her breathing got a bit heavier. The lean muscles that covered her slim skeleton became tensed. It reminded Tiburon of her days as a pup.
Rosa would be looking on as she and Exequias and Espada took turns duking it out with Junior for their "training." The lovely honey colored she-wolf always picked up the click of her mate's nails on the stone of their cave as he approached. When Rosa did, she would order her spawn to play with the bits of antler and bone that were scattered about. Even though she would be gnawing on a femur, holding down with those petite paws of hers, she would have both eyes focused on the rotten man-bitch she called "daddy," sides heaving while her lips writhed in a silent snarl.
She ignored the names and requests for ranks as they were produced. The petite ex-loner could care less what the other inhabitants of the packlands were called. As long as they left her alone, everything would be fine. Just peachy. Single eye examined the iced-over landscape behind her alpha, attempting to memorize every line and curve of it. Shouldn't she if she was going to live here?
"Would you care to tell me your name, then? Otherwise I'll have to make up my own for you." Rust-furred auds perked as she was adressed, unusually pigmented stare dragged back to the wolf who spoke. She rolled her eye before forcing her lips to mouth the word. Tiburon. She hated being forced to go through the motions of speech.

text | "speech" | thoughts "someone else's speech"
Pericle's small feet trod along the ground, her nose sniffing excitedly. A protruding branch snags her coat causing her to yelp out slightly. She turned around, and growled at the branch. "Drat these branches! They're ruining my coat, that I literally just cleaned." The growl slowly quieted and Pericle resumed to traveling toward the alpha's call. She was brand new here, and still didn't know the territory that well. She couldn't even recall the countless times she had found herself lost and alone.
She stopped and lifted her head up higher, the sound of voices floating over to her ears. There was nothing she could really hear clearly, except for a few mumbles here and there. Hmph... wonder what's in store for me now. Pericle had yet to meet any of her fellow pack members, that was if she was to be accepted into the Fjordsong pack. She lowered her tail and took a few steps forward, hesitantly peeking around from a tree that masked her view. She saw a white wolf, the Alpha. The way he stood and the way he spoke, it practically screamed out Alpha. A small smile curved on her lips, and a small whisper floated from her muzzle. "My, my you are one handsome alpha." She glanced around looking for the Alpha female, but saw none. He's ruling this by himself? She wasn't sure why that surprised her, but it was just a spur of the moment shock.
The next wolf she looked at reminded her of a coyote, but she knew to keep these kinds of thoughts to herself. It wasn't friendly to call a wolf a coyote, in fact, she found it very insulting although she had never been mistaken for one. This was a female, and by the looks of it she had this godawful stance of wanting to lunge at the alpha. Well how idiotic would that be... he'd kill you in a second. The third wolf was a male, big and with an amazingly thick winter coat. He had a whole sort of different colors in his pelt, ranging from brown to white to yellow. Pericle found it quite beautiful, but then again she thought every male was handsome... most of them.
The last three wolves that had showed up were both female. Pericle didn't feel like looking them over, assuming things about them. She had already wasted too much time here doing that. She figured she might as well let them see her, evaluate her. After all, this is how wolves were, especially a pack like this one. We were all so different from each other, but in the same way, all alike. She wagged her tail slightly, her eyes intently watching the others. They had no idea she was there, or they did and they were just ignoring her.
She stepped into the soft snow that littered the ground, and trotted awkwardly up to the group. Pericle felt eyes on her as she trotted up, hoping no one would think that she was an intruder. She ignored the others, keeping her gaze on the Alpha that loomed before her. She dropped her snow white head, keeping her yellow eyes on the Alpha. "Greetings, my name is Pericle. You may call me Peri for short." She offered a small smile, hoping to lift this weird scene that she had set up. She had pretty much barged in, not offering any hellos to the wolves that surrounded her. Pericle figured this would lead to some hostility. She sighed and glanced around her. "And greetings to all of you." She dipped her head slightly, offering all of them a small smile.
